What To Expect

Bayahibe
Bayahibe is a tourist city on the Caribbean coast of the Dominican Republic. It is known for its sandy beaches and scuba diving sites. The public beach of Bayahibe has a starting point for boats. Dominicus Beach is a long stretch of sand and coral reefs. To the east, the main section of Parque Nacional del Este is filled with caves, some with ancient rock art. Saona Island has beaches and reefs with diverse marine fauna.

Isla Saona
Departing from Bayahibe and passing the Canaleto Catuano, you reach Saona Island, where the most popular excursion for tourists who visit the area takes place. Saona Island is part of the Cotubanamá National Park and was selected as one of the best dream beaches in the Caribbean by "Caribbean Travel & Life" magazine. Its pristine beaches, lush palm trees, and turquoise waters make it one of the most enchanting regions in the Dominican Republic.

About 400 meters from the coast is one of the biggest tourist attractions on Isla Saona, a natural pool in the middle of the sea where the depth is barely one meter. It is a perfect place to relax and have contact with all kinds of exotic marine species present under the waters, such as starfish, corals, tropical fish, shells and snails.7

Isla Saona attracts between 2,000 and 2,500 tourists daily, for an annual average of 600,000 people.
